Bess Smallwood


Bess completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at La Trobe University in 2015. A semester of her studies was completed at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Bess holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australia National University.

Bess worked previously as Legal Case Manager at a pro bono legal service operating from within a drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic in St Kilda.

Bess has also volunteered at Refugee Legal and interned at the Women’s Legal Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.

Prior to joining Stary Norton Halphen, Bess was an Associate to a Judge of the County Court of Victoria.
