Madeleine completed her studies at Monash University. She holds a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (BA(Hons)) in Indigenous Cultures and Histories.
Madeleine worked at Stary Norton Halphen as a paralegal from early 2023, assisting lawyers with research, and in preparation for hearings and trials.
While studying, Madeleine volunteered with the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) and the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA). Prior to joining Stary Norton Halphen, Madeleine worked in Aboriginal Land rights at the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation, and as a paralegal at a commercial law firm in its Tax Controversy and Workplace Law teams. Throughout her JD and BA(Hons) studies, Madeleine tutored First Nations students in law, politics, and Indigenous cultures and histories at Monash University. She was also a JD Tutor for Public Law and Statutory Interpretation in her final year of law.
