Shilpa holds a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations and Media), and a Juris Doctor (Law) from the University of Melbourne. She also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
During her studies, Shilpa was awarded the Daniel McCluskey Social justice Prize in recognition of her dedication to human rights related work.
Prior to commencing with Stary Norton Halphen, Shilpa volunteered at Refugee Legal and the Mental Health Legal Centre. She was also involved in a criminal law reform project with the International Commission of Jurists Victoria.
Shilpa is passionate about advocating for people from diverse backgrounds, and those with barriers to accessing justice. She endeavours to approach clients with empathy and compassion in what is often a stressful and difficult time.
