Jenna McHugh
Senior Associate, BA, GDLP
Jenna holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychological Science from LaTrobe University. She completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the College of Law and is part way through a Master of Laws at Melbourne University.
Prior to joining Stary Norton Halphen & Galbally, Jenna worked in the Northern Territory across Darwin, Katherine, and Alice Springs, where she regularly appeared in the Supreme Court, Local Court, and Children’s Court.
Currently a Senior Associate at Stary Norton Halphen & Galbally, Jenna frequently undertakes her own advocacy, appearing in various legal proceedings including pleas, bail applications, contested committals, contested hearings, and intervention order proceedings. Jenna has a particular interest in cases involving children charged with serious indictable offences.
In 2026, Jenna was recognised as a Rising Star in Doyle’s Guide’s Victorian Criminal Law rankings, reflecting her growing reputation as an outstanding criminal defence lawyer and the respect she has earned from clients and peers alike.
