Seb Costello, a reporter for A Current Affair, faces two counts of unlawful assault following a neighbourhood dispute in Melbourne earlier this year. The incident involved an altercation with a man and woman in Richmond on February 11, although the victims have since revoked their original statement.
Despite this, police are proceeding with the charges, and Costello is scheduled to appear in court next month. He plans to contest the allegations with the assistance of prominent lawyer Sam Norton, who has defended high-profile cases, including that of Borce Ristevski.
This situation arises shortly after Costello reported an assault by disgraced AFL player Ricky Nixon, although no charges will be brought against Nixon.
