Luay Sako, the man accused of murdering 23-year-old Celeste Manno in her home, has pleaded not guilty to the charges in a Melbourne Magistrates Court. His lawyer, Sam Norton, described the case as an “incredibly difficult and complex matter” that may hinge on medical evidence, expressing hope that the court case would “resolve.”
Ms. Manno was killed on November 16, allegedly stabbed by Sako, who had developed an obsession with her after working together at a call centre and reportedly harassing her online for months. Following her death, Victorian Attorney-General Jill Hennessy initiated a review of police handling of stalking cases.
